UPDATE: Name of Weston burglary suspect released

WESTON (WAOW)-- We know now the name of the suspect arrested early Wednesday morning for burglarizing a Weston business.

Investigators say his name is Anthony Gaston, 48.

According to the Everest Metro Chief of Police, a Crimestoppers tip lead police to MELRON Corp. in the Village of Weston late Tuesday night.  Around 1:00 AM Wednesday, officers watched Gaston enter and leave the building.

Officers say Gaston tried to run from arrest but was apprehended after a brief pursuit.  He has been booked into the Marathon County jail.

Gaston has been charged with burglary, attempted theft, possession of burglary tools, resisting an officer, probation violation, operation after revocation and operating a motor vehicle with expired registration.


WESTON (WAOW) -- Everest Metro Police say a tip helped them catch a burglar red handed.

Investigators say it happened early Wednesday morning in Weston.

A 48-year-old man from Weston is in custody.

Everest Metro Police say a Crimestoppers tip on Tuesday told them there would be a break-in to Melron Corporation on Technology Drive in the Weston Industrial Park.  They sent extra patrols to the area overnight.

Officials say the suspect parked his car near the business and went into the building.

When he came out, he saw the police and tried to run, but was quickly captured and taken into custody.  Officials say the man faces felony charges, including resisting arrest and theft.

His name is not being released at this time.
