Carol A. Robinson, 70, Wausau, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. Carol was born May 20, 1941 to the late John and Blanche (Hromadko) Kimmer in Minneapolis, Minn.
Both Carol and her husband Richard were from the same County in Minnesota. They traveled together on a visit to Chicago where they were married on July 25, 1961. They lived in Hopkins Minnesota where they raised their children. Carol loved children. They adopted three additional children to share their love and gifts. Carol had been disadvantaged by having serious heart problems from her childhood. She underwent numerous surgeries throughout her life. Yet through all the hospitalizations she remained strong and gracious. She befriended those around her easily. Carol was often reserved and quiet, although her family enjoyed her wittiness and her spicy humor.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; four daughters, Theresa (Robb) Shepherd, Wausau, Tracy (Dale) Flowers, Orlando, Fla., Cindy Robinson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Wendy Ahlstrom, St. Francis, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard (Sharon) Kimmer, Palisade, Minn. and Paul (Wendy) Kimmer, Clarkfield, Minn. She was also preceded in death by their son, Christopher.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, 3200 N. Mountain Rd., Wausau. Rev. John Roseth will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau is assisting the family with the arrangements.
