MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Dane County sheriff's department cited 90 motorists for not wearing a seatbelt in seven hours.
It was part of an enhanced enforcement Wednesday with eight deputies on two highways in northern Dane County.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports (http://bit.ly/uZjhho ) the $10 tickets were issued between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
In a news release, sheriff's office spokeswoman Elise Schaffer says the tickets were issued at an alarming rate.
The enhanced enforcement is being paid for through a $45,000 grant from the state Department of Transportation.
Similar deployments will continue into next week, and possibly beyond.
