UPDATE: Man sentenced in Weston robbery

UPDATE - One of the men charged in an armed robbery in Weston has been sentenced.

Vincent Bradford, 18 years old, was sentenced Friday to two and a half years in prison, followed by five years extended supervision.

Bradford had pleaded no contest to charges of armed robbery with use of force and substantial battery.  Other charges of resisting or obstructing an officer, false imprisonment and disorderly conduct were dismissed but read in.

Everest Metro Police said they stumbled upon a crime in progress. A police officer was knocking on the door of a trailer home in the Green Acres Mobile Park around midnight when he noticed something wasn't right.

Inside, police said there was an armed robbery taking place. Five suspects are now in custody at the Marathon County Jail. Police said the situation developed when a man was lured to the trail with the promise of sex. That's when authorities said four masked men jumped out and started beating him.

"When the victim came into the trailer the individuals came out of the back, began beating him, pistol whipping him, took his money and then, ironically enough, the officer was knocking on the door for something else," said Captain Clayton Schulz of Everest Metro Police.

The victim was able to escape out a window when police arrived.

17-year-old Vincent Bradford, 18-year-old Cody Kuehl, 27-year-old April Cherry and 17-year-old Shaquille Williams are all being held on a $50,000 dollar bond. Another teenager is also in custody. The suspects face charges of substantial battery, theft and resisting arrest.

They are all being held in the Marathon County Jail. No defense attorneys have been listed.

A preliminary hearing for the five suspects is scheduled for next week.
