The fight to save SNE Enterprises is not over

MOSINEE (WAOW) --  The fight to save SNE Enterprises is not over.  Union representatives say they hope they can stop the company from shutting its doors.

The company announced last week that it would be closing its facility in Mosinee by the end of next year.  That means 556 layoffs.

The news came after union workers voted down a contract proposal in October. Now, union representatives say they will push for another round of negations.

"We have communicated with the company both verbally and now in writing in an effort to meet with them to discuss the decision to close the facility. In hopes we can discuss the closure and discuss all options with them," International Union Rep. Dan Walbrun said.

Newsline 9 tried to contact SNE Enterprises officials, but they declined to comment.  They only released a short statement on Friday that says the plant will close due to a weak housing market. They also cited the failure to reach a contract agreement between the company and their employees as another reason for closing.
