Eugene A. Mader, 70, Mosinee, died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Vander Waal CBRF, Mosinee, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 24, 1941 in Athens, son of the late Theodore and Esther (Hanke) Mader.
Eugene was very proud of his service in the United States Marines serving in Okinawa, Japan and Iceland. He was the proprietor of the historic hotel and bar, Maders Bar, Athens for 10 years. Eugene was also an avid history buff.
Survivors include his children, Lisa (Randy) Guralski, Marathon, Lynn Perry, Appleton and Kory (Andrea) Mader, Athens; grandchildren, Mitchell, Taylor and Hannah Guralski, Amanda Gajewski, Lewis and Sophia Perry, Emersyn Mader; brothers, Ted Jr. (Elaine) Mader, Hatley, James (Joyce) Mader, West Bend and Melvin (Phyllis) Mader, Marathon; sister, Vernell (Robert) Calmes, Weston; sister-in-law, Colletta Mader, Kronenwetter.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jerome and Vernon (Eunice) Mader.
Memorial services will be Noon on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will officiate. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the Marathon funeral home.
