Raymond "Tony" Disher age 62 of Stevens Point died December 12, 2011 at St Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services for Tony will be held at 11:30 AM Friday December 16, 2011 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. Dwaine Habrat will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 9:30 AM to the time of services at the funeral home. Full military will be performed after the service.
Tony was born December 26, 1948 in Stevens Point, the son of Raymond and Wanda (Rzentkowski) Disher, He graduated from Pacelli High School in 1966 and began working at the paper mill. Tony entered the United States Army on May 19, 1969 in Milwaukee. He served his country as a PV1 and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. After his honorable discharge on January 17, 1972 from Oakland, CA, Tony returned to Stevens Point and his career at the paper mill. He retired from the paper mill in February of this year after 43 years. Tony married Star Webie on April 12, 1969 at St. Peter Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fan of the Badgers, Brewers, and the Minnesota Vikings. He loved spending time with his family and watching their sporting events.
Tony is survived by his wife Star, and their two sons Todd and Cory, both of Stevens Point. Four grandchildren: Dustin, Ashleigh, Harrison, and Emily. Two sisters: Donna (Ralph) Olsen, Stevens Point; Debbie (Clifford) Pflugardt, Green Bay. One brother Michael (Debbie) Disher, Stevens Point. His dog Coco and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Greg.
