Crash ruins boy's reunion with dad back from Iraq

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) -- Authorities say a 6-year-old boy was on his way to see his father, who was returning from a tour of duty in Iraq, when he was hit by car at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports ( that Zachary Drew was struck Friday as he, his mother and three siblings were walking from a parking ramp into the terminal.

His mother told the newspaper that Zachary was dragged about 10 feet. She says he suffered a broken leg and nose, and that he may need reconstructive surgery on his jaw.

Airport spokesman Pat Hogan says a 61-year-old St. Paul man was arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular operation.

Zachary's father, Richard Drew, is in the Oklahoma National Guard and was returning from fourth tour of duty.
