Man involved in Grand Rapids shooting pronounced dead


TOWN OF GRAND RAPIDS (WAOW) -- The victim of a shooting in Grand Rapids was pronounced dead Monday around 2 P.M.

According to the Grand Rapids Police Department, Nick Hoffmann, 31, was originally in critical condition after Sunday's shooting. 

Authorities have also named the suspect as 21-year-old Tyler Enkro, who is still being held in the Wood County Jail awaiting arraignment. The incident is still under investigation, but police say it is possible that the shooting may have been accidental. No further details about the shooting have been released at this time. 


TOWN OF GRAND RAPIDS (WAOW) -- A man is in critical condition after a shooting in the Town of Grand Rapids. According to Wood County authorities, police and emergency personnel responded to a residence just before three a.m. Sunday morning and found the man who had been shot once in the neck.

He was then airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital. A 21-year-old Grand Rapids man is currently being held at the Wood County Jail for recklessly endangering safety.

The Grand Rapids Police Department and Wood County Sheriff's Office are investigating. Authorities say they were assisted at the scene by United Emergency Medical Response, Grand Rapids First Responders and the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department.

Names are not being released at this time.
