Four arrested in connection with multiple burglaries in Portage County
PORTAGE COUNTY (WAOW) -- Four people have been arrested in connection with more than a dozen burglaries in Portage County.
According to the Portage County Sheriff's Department, officers conducted search warrants on Tuesday and found a large amount of stolen items. They arrested Nicholas Luke, 28, of the Town of Stockton; Zachary Deyo, 18, of the Village of Amherst; Bradley Stemper, 20, of the Town of Amherst, and Brian Jovanovich, 18, also of the Town of Amherst. Two others are expected to be charged.
Officers say 13 burglaries to seasonal homes took place from late November through mid-December. Thousands of dollars of electrical wire was also reported stolen from Wimme Sand and Gravel pit.
Police say the arrests are also connected to three burglaries to seasonal homes in Adams County.
Portage County Sheriff's officers say there may be other unreported burglaries connected to these arrests.
