Wisconsin's population grows slightly


MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin's population grew slightly between April 2010 and July of this year.

The number of people residing in the Badger State grew four-tenths of a percent to about 5.7 million. The growth rate is below the national rate of nine-tenths of a percent.

The U.S. Census Bureau figures show the nation has about 311 million people. The Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/w1Vc1Q ) says California remains the most populous state with nearly 38 million residents, followed by Texas with nearly 26 million people.
