WAUSAU (WAOW) -- The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce is working to help the Village of Brokaw and others impacted by the upcoming closure of the Wausau Paper mill.
About two dozen people met Monday to discuss issues such as taxes, what to do with the building, and how to help affected workers. Another meeting is scheduled for mid-January.
Chamber officials say the working group includes state lawmakers, leaders from Brokaw and other communities, business leaders, and officials from state agencies and social services.
About 450 jobs are expected to be lost when Wausau Paper closes its Brokaw mill at the end of March.
