Neb. fugitive arrested in Wis. after 14-year run

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A Nebraska fugitive has been arrested in Wisconsin after more than 14 years on the run.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested the man at a Green Bay home on Thursday.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports the man had lived in Green Bay for 13 years under an alias.

The man was convicted in 1997 of first-degree sexual assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, terrorist threats and witness tampering in Douglas County, Nebraska. He fled while awaiting sentencing.

Marshals received information that the man may have been living in the area and were conducting surveillance when they saw him shoveling snow outside a home.

Green Bay police helped take the man into custody without incident. He's in the Brown County Jail awaiting extradition to Nebraska.
