Walker has no regrets about jobs promise

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says he has no regrets about his 2010 campaign promise to grow jobs in Wisconsin by 250,000 over four years.

In nearly a year the state has added just over 16,000 jobs, which is not on pace to meet the goal. Walker is being forced to talk about the promise earlier than planned given the ongoing effort to force a recall election next year.

Walker said in an interview Thursday with The Associated Press that it's not fair to judge him only a year into his term on the pledge.

And while he wishes there were more jobs, Walker says he believes policies and other changes he has pushed this past year have put the state in position to meet the goal by 2015.
