WAUSAU (WAOW)--This year, there are a few places in North Central Wisconsin that are going to guarantee a white Christmas. Sylvan Tubing Hill and Granite Peak Ski Area produce their own snow. Both get winter started, even if Mother Nature isn't ready to.
"The hills look great," said Sylvan Hill Manager Scott Arambel. "The county has done a great job of bringing in snow."
Recent warm weather hasn't stopped people from enjoying the slopes. Granite Peak Operations Manager Vicky Baumann says they are seeing people from across the Midwest this holiday season.
"People get really excited for that first snow," she said. "They see the brown ground, but they can drive up our driveway and you don't even feel like you're in Wausau anymore."
Inches of snow may not be piling up outside, but they are at these resorts.
