Not all wacky Wisconsin news was in Capitol

Posted:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- There has been plenty of weirdness in Wisconsin this year, and not all of it was inside the Capitol.

There was the werewolf sex case out of Milwaukee; the shirtless wanderer also in Milwaukee nicknamed the Milverine for his likeness to the Wolverine comic book character; and the Fond du Lac man who ate his 25,000th Big Mac.

The economy remained tough all over in 2011, even for little kids trying to run a lemonade stand. An Appleton police officer shut down the stand being run by a 10-year-old and 9-year-old sisters, telling the young entrepreneurs that their sales were prohibited by city ordinance.

Embarrassed by an avalanche of outrage after the story hit the news, police later apologized to the family and promised it would never happen again.
