PASADENA, CA (CNN) -
The stage and floats are nearly set for the 2012 Rose Parade.
Reporters got a sneak peek at some of the floral floats before their debut on January 2nd.
Artists and volunteers worked feverishly applying fruit, seeds, bark, different types of grass and of course, flowers, to the floats.
The theme of this year's parade is "Just Imagine."
The event will feature high-stepping equestrian units, spirited marching bands and the floats.
Iraq War veteran and "Dancing with the Stars" winner JR Martinez will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 123rd Rose Parade.
