UW student bikes to Florida for cause

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW)-- University of Wisconsin freshman Matt Stoltz says he plans to ride his bike to West Palm Beach Florida this summer. He says he is raising money for an organization called One World, One Team.

Stoltz says the organization provides kids in third world countries with sporting equipment. According to Stoltz, he will start in Wisconsin Rapids and travel just below 1,700 miles.

Stoltz says he got the idea from his brother, after he traveled to third world countries on a missionary trip. It was there that he say kids playing baseball with wooden sticks, and thought he should do something about it.

"We're just working to provide a baseball bat that can make a kids year there," Stoltz said. "It could be the only toy they get all year and it's just a great feeling to provide them with that opportunity."

To help with donations, Stoltz can be emailed at mjstoltz@wisc.edu

He will begin his journey sometime this summer.
