WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Monday's cold temperatures kept a lot of people in doors. But, a few brave souls headed out to the ice to try their luck at catching some fish.
Ice shacks lined the ice at Rookery Park View near Rib Mountain.
Some fisherman say they don't let the cold weather keep them from doing what they love, while others say braving the cold is only worth it if they catch that one big fish.
"It is fun. Especially if you catch something. It is nice to be outside and away from home and into the cold," Ice fisherman Rocky Hanson said.
The Department of Natural Resources warns people to still take caution when going out onto the ice. They say the unusually warm temperatures last week might make some spots in the ice weak.
