Eugene R. Domaszek, 81, of Amherst Junction, died, Saturday, December 31, 2011, peacefully with his wife and children at his side, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice at the Portage County Care Center.
Eugene was born February 28, 1930, in the Town of New Hope to the late Raymond and Martha (Studzinski) Domaszek. He grew up in the Amherst Junction area and attended Malloy School in the Town of New Hope and Thiensville schools in Thiensville, WI.
Eugene married the former Wanda E. Karch on September 30, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, WI. Following their marriage they farmed 45 years together on the Karch family homestead. In addition to farming Eugene hauled milk for the Borden Milk company and for 8 years drove school bus for the Rosholt School District.
Eugene was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.
Eugene enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, playing pool, watching football, and most of all visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Wanda of Stevens Point, children, Gary (Chong Suk), Wrightstown, WI, Patrick (Sue), Amherst Junction, WI, Louise (Arlen) Denk, Rockton, IL, Alan (Kay), Stevens Point, WI, and Carol (Mark) Busse, Amherst Junction, WI. He is also survived by grandchildren, Rachel Domaszek (Dan Scardina) Minneapolis, MN, Andrew Domaszek, Lafayette, IN, Mark Domaszek, Madison, WI, Amanda (Juan) Urrea Brookfield, WI, Kayla Domaszek, Amherst Junction, WI, Rachel Denk, Machesney Park, IL, Michael Denk, Charleston, SC, Laura Denk (fiancé Dean Bieber), Rockford, IL, Krista Domaszek, Stevens Point, WI, great - grandchildren Jacinta and Jacob Urrea, and a brother Robert (Bernie) Domaszek, Stevens Point, WI.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and a brother James Domaszek.
A mass of christian burial for Eugene will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday January 5, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Greg Michaud will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church. A general rosary will be prayed in church Thursday morning at 10:00. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
