In Wisconsin, 8 candidates on the ballot

Posted:

President Barack Obama and seven Republicans will appear on the ballot for president in Wisconsin.

A special committee of Republicans and Democrats voted Tuesday on which candidates out of more than 80 that had filed with the Federal Election Commission would actually appear on Wisconsin's ballot.

Obama was the only Democrat named. The seven Republicans are Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.

Some of those who didn't make the cut included Republicans Herman Cain, Jonathon the Impaler Sharkey and Ole Savior.

Anyone denied access has until Jan. 31 to collect between 8,000 and 12,000 signatures to get on the ballot.
