Carl G. Ryskoski, 83, of 5426 Windy Drive Stevens Point, died Tuesday January 3, 2012 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital. Carl was born on March 24, 1928 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late

Vincent & Florence (Craig) Ryskoski. He attended local schools.

He entered the service on June 27, 1945 in Milwaukee. He was a Seaman First Class in the Navy. He received the Victory Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on July 18, 1946 in Great Lakes Illinois.

His marriage to Arlene Bannach took place on July 24, 1948 at St. Peter Catholic Church. His wife died on January 30, 1980.

His marriage to ElJane Bannach took place on November 28, 1981 in Stevens Point. After the marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point.

Carl worked at R. J. Soik Plumbing as a plumber for over 40 years. He was a member of the local Plumbers union 778.

He was a member of the American Legion Post # 6, Veteran of Foreign Wars Plover Post #10262, AMVETS Post #1051 and Moose Family Center #1572. 

 

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bowling, enjoyed watching sporting events especially the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his wife ElJane Ryskoski of Stevens Point, Children, Carol (Peter) Forseth of Amherst, Patti Ryskoski of Stevens Point, Daniel (Bernett) Ryskoski of Plover and Barb (Brian) Newby-Maslowski of Stevens Point. Step-Children, Karen (Michael) Dudeck of Plover, Keith (Diane) Strong of Plover, Joann (Jerry) Rozak of Custer and Kevin Strong of Oshkosh. Brothers, Norm (Jan) Ryskoski of Green Bay, Don (Pat) Ryskoski of Green Bay and Bob (Carol) Ryskoski of Sheboygan. Twin sister, Claudine Gotter of Eau Claire. Grandchildren, Robert, Ry, Kyle, Alyssa and Eddie. Step-Grandchildren, Cassie, Kirby, Jason, Josh, Travis, Kimberly, Eli and Micah.

Step-Great Grandsons, Reece, Isaac, Kazmir and Logan. Also survived by his Step-Mother, Olive Ryskoski-Hintz of Stevens Point and a Sister in Law, Bernell Basinski of Stevens Point.

He was preceded in death by a brother Harold.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital, especially the nurses in ICU and on the 2nd floor and the Portage County Health Care Center for their loving care and support.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday January 6, 2012 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev George Thayikuzhithottu officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Friday from 9:30am until time of service at the church.
