Marshfield soldier's body returns home

Staff Sergeant Joseph Altmann's body returned home. Friends and family members gathered at the Central Wisconsin Airport where staff Sergeant Altmann's body arrived Thursday morning.

He was killed in Afghanistan during an insurgent attack on Christmas day
Airport officials say he is the first fallen soldier to be brought through CWA.

Altmann had been serving as an army medic for the past seven years. He tended to servicemen and women, mending broken bones and bandaging bruises.
Governor Scott Walker issued an executive order to lower flags to half-staff tomorrow for Altmann.

Wisconsin National Guard armories, air bases and other facilities across the state will honor him.
