Donald A. Doyle, 86, Weston, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Schofield.
Donald was born May 25, 1925 to the late Thomas and Birdie (Hurd) Doyle in Wausau. He married Janice Chaignot on August 5, 1977 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Wausau.
Don served his country honorably in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He attended Wausau High School and then attended Layton School of Art in Milwaukee. He retired from both Wausau Tile and Weathershield and worked part-time as a guard in his retirement years at Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; three daughters: Peggy (Andrew) Novak, Wausau, Valerie (Carl) Burton, Riverside, CA, and Shelley (Chris) Sutherland, Fairplay, CO; grandson Sean (Ann) Peterson, West Salem, WI and granddaughter Ella (Randall Harshman) Doyle, Atlanta, GA; brothers-in-law Leonard Kozlowski, Greenfield and Terry (Sarah) Chaignot, Appleton; cousin Patrick Brown, Wausau, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Gloria Potsler, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, 221 South 28th Avenue, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Thorn will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. on Monday until the time of services at the church.
