2 critically hurt when car crashes into Wis. house

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Two people were critically injured when their car crashed into a house in Green Bay, damaging the home so badly that authorities condemned it.

Authorities say police and firefighters were called to the home shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday. They found the front of the 2012 Chrysler 300 in the basement of the one-story ranch home and the car's rear wheels on top of the basement wall.

Two people were trapped in the car, which had to be pulled from the basement by a tow truck before firefighters could cut them out. They were taken to St. Vincent Hospital. Their conditions are not available.

Two people who were sleeping at the opposite end of the house were awakened abruptly, but were uninjured. They're staying with relatives.

The investigation continues.
