WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- Safety officials are recalling about 30,400 bicycle helmets because they do not meet federal safety standard.
The recall involves Triple Eight Distribution bicycle helmets for children and youth.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety commission says product testing showed the helmets do not meet CPSC's safety standards for impact resistance, and consumers could suffer head injuries in a fall. Triple Eight and Sector 9 size "S/M" EPS Liner helmets are affected
So far, no incidents have been reported.
The recalled item features a Little Tricky logo on both sides. They come in one size and in black, white, pink and green.
The helmets were sold at bicycle and sports stores and other retailers nationwide and online from August 2006 through November 2011 for about $40
If you have a helmet, stop it immediately and contact Triple Eight for a full refund.
