Mild temperatures give way to winter storm

Some Wisconsinites are trading golf clubs for snow shovels as mild spring-like temperatures give way to the reality of the season.

A winter storm moves into the Badger State Thursday with up to 8 inches of snow expected to the east. Even before the snow began to fall, plow drivers were out on the highways and roads spraying salt in anticipation of the snow storm.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for much of the state, except for the northwest until Friday morning. A winter storm warning is in effect for Iron County. Ashland and Bayfield counties are expected to get plenty of lake effect snow.
