Wis. board wants all recalls on same date

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin board that oversees elections hopes to hold any recalls that qualify for the ballot on the same date.

Government Accountability Board spokesman Reid Magney said Thursday the board will make that intent clear when it asks a judge for more time in reviewing the petitions that are to be filed on Tuesday.

There are six recall efforts ongoing against Gov. Scott Walker, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and four Republican state senators. Board director Kevin Kennedy says it will take more than 60 days to review all the petitions submitted for the six recalls, which could push any general election into June or later.

Targeted senators are Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau, Pam Galloway of Wausau, Terry Moulton of Chippewa Falls, and Van Wanggaard of Racine.
