Injured solider to be honored before Lambeau game

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A Texas soldier and Packers fan injured in Afghanistan says it feels surreal that he's going to be honored before the Packers playoff game at Lambeau Field.

U.S. Army Spc. Christopher Haley lost his right leg and had damage to his left leg and arm after a Sept. 28 bombing.

The 22-year-old San Antonio man will be invited on the field Sunday before kickoff, along with his mother, sister and brother.

He's being honored as part of Operation Fan Mail, which recognizes military families at Packers home games. It's already honored more than 38 families.

A former classmate's mother wrote a letter to Operation Fan Mail about Haley. Haley's parents are also in the military.

Haley tells the Green Bay Press-Gazette it's not something he ever expected to happen.
