William R. "Bill" Blomquist, age 70, of Stevens Point, died Saturday, January 14, 2012, at home surrounded by family. Bill was born July 6, 1941, in Chicago,
Illinois, the son of the late Russell and Hilda (Hendrickson) Blomquist.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly of Stevens Point; sister, Elaine (Vern) Magnesen of Elmhurst, IL; daughter, Lorraine (Richard) Shoemaker of Huntsville, AL; sons, Michael (Gemma) Blomquist of Inverness, FL, and Eric
Blomquist of Portage. He is also survived by grandchildren, Amie, Lisa, Richard, Jon, and Sage as well as 6 great-grandchildren. Bill was also the beloved
uncle of a niece and three nephews. Special friends include Mark Gehin, Kim Hutchison, Eric Osgood, Anna Sorenson and Carol Solberg.
Bill graduated from Austin High School and attended the University of Illinois. He married Kimberly Paulino (nee Graves) on August 5, 1990, in Spring Grove, IL, retired in 1995, and moved to Stevens Point. Prior to retirement, Bill owned a tavern in Illinois and was employed in sales at a variety of car dealerships.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed boating, traveling, playing cards, shooting pool and had a special interest in automobiles.
