MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk is running as a Democrat against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.
She made her announcement Wednesday in an online video posted to her website and in an email message to supporters.
Falk says in the message that the 1 million signatures submitted Tuesday to recall Walker was an "unprecedented and inspiring show of solidarity and determination."
Falk says she will make different choices than Walker on focus on creating good-paying jobs, a clean environment, successful schools and affordable health care.
A spokeswoman for Walker's campaign had no immediate comment.
Falk is the second Democrat to announce they would challenge Walker. State Sen. Tim Cullen of Janesville is also running.
A number of other Democrats are considering getting into the race but haven't made a decision.
