Carl B. Glodowski

91, of Whiting, passed away on Saturday January 21, 2012. He was a resident of the Portage County Health Care Center.

Carl was born on February 8, 1920 in the town of Stockton. He was the son of the late Alex & Mary (Sikorski) Glodowski. He grew up on the family farm and as a young man was also the Bell Ringer for St. Mary's Catholic Church. He married Regina Biadasz on April 23, 1949. Regina died on January 21, 1990. Together they farmed and had four sons. Carl retired from farming in 1985 but continued to help his son Emil with the farm for several years after his retirement.

Carl married Selma Studinski on June 17, 1992 together they blended their families and enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, listening to music and most of all spending time with their families.

Carl is survived by his wife Selma of Whiting. Children, Mel Glodowski of Riverton Utah, Eugene (Karen) Glodowski of Amherst and Emil Glodowski (special friend Sandy Omernick) of Stevens Point. Daughter in Law, Margaret Glodowski.

He is further survived by eight stepchildren; Richard (Jill) Studinski, Marie (Rick) Rossier, Shirley (Jose) Escamilla, Joe (Sue) Studinski, Linda (Ron) Liebe, Jerry Studinski, Delores Wampole and Allen (Lois) Studinski. 16 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren. Two sisters, Angela Skarzynski and Loretta Shamrowicz. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 6 sisters and one son Tony.

Carl was loved by many and we will miss his twinkling eyes, smile and kind words. Even though he had difficulty communicating during his last year, the smile and twinkle in his eyes told you how much he loved the daily visits from his wife and how he looked forward to the visits and the companionship of his sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Portage County Health Care Center for the outstanding care given to Carl during the last year.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Wednesday January 25, 2012 at St. Mary's of Mount Carmel Catholic Church Fancher will the Rev Jude Dioka officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 9:00am until time of service at the church. Lorraine Studinski will lead the parish rosary at 10:00am at the church.
