Kronenwetter mobile home park may close

WAUSAU (WAOW)--The  Village of Kronenwetter has taken steps, which could force some people living in a mobile home park to move.

The Village Board has given Randy Bouche, the owner of Bouche Kronenwetter Park, 60 days to make improvements to the property, or face the prospect of losing it. This comes after village leaders cited Bouche for numerous safety and health violations.

Kronenwetter Zoning Director, Randy Fifrick, says 6 trailers are currently posted as being unfit for people to live in. Those trailers must be repaired or torn down. Other improvements include  installing smoke and CO detectors in homes among other things.

For those facing the prospect of having to move, it is a difficult situation. One woman  who spoke with Newsline said she likes living there and doesn't want to leave.

Fifrick says 19 of the 35 units at the park are privately owned.  Those people could be forced to find new locations for their homes and pay moving costs.

Monday, January 30th, a meeting takes place help people living in the park explore their options. It gets under way at 6 p.m. in the village hall.

We tried to contact Randy Bouche to find out what his plans are and to give him a chance to respond to the village licensing decision, he did not return our call.
