A Wausau family is on a quest to find the cure for what is making their son sick. Kohin Pasholk is 19 months old. Since birth, he has faced a number of health challenges. His parents have taken him to doctors across the Midwest, but still have no definitive answers on how to make him better.
Most of the health problems stem from troubles with food digestion. Kohin's mother Tara says, "Doctors have told us he has leaky gut syndrome, issues with yeast, bacteria and heavy metals. His gut can't absorb anything. Any solid food that he eats will come out of his body the way it went in solid. It is very frustrating not to be able to do anything to help him,you feel helpless."
For now, Kohin's primary source of nutrition is breast milk. But, his parents say doctors have told them that this can no longer go on. They now hope to travel to Texas to meet with a specialist there.
With mounting medical expenses a benefit takes place Sunday, January 29th at Richard's Restaurant & Bar in Wausau to help defray some of those costs. To find out more about the event and a fund set up at a bank, you can check out this website: http://kohinpasholkbenefit.steelfusion.com/
