WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) -- Police in a Milwaukee suburb say a man whose skeletal remains were found in a house likely committed suicide.
According to the West Allis police department, a handgun was found at the scene and he had a single gunshot wound to the head.
Deputy Chief Charles Padgett had said the house was foreclosed upon for failure to pay taxes and when workers went to clean and assess the house Monday they found the remains. The 45-year-old man lived there.
Padgett said Friday the house was owned at one point by the man's mother but she had died.
He says they are still investigating the last time anyone had contact with him, but the most recent mail found in the house was dated 2007.
