Alina S. Rybnikova, 22, a former Stevens Point resident, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Mundelein, Illinois.
Visitation for Alina will be held at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, Stevens Point, on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 4-8 PM. The Knights of Columbus, of which her step father is a member, will lead the rosary at 7:00 PM.
Alina was born March 13, 1989 in Magadan, Russia, daughter of Galina (Duane) Zaborowski. She moved to America with her mother in 2005 and attended Stevens Point Area Senior High. She returned for a short time to Russia to graduate with her class in 2006 from the Krasnodar High School #69, Russia. She returned to Stevens Point and attended one year at UWSP in the foreign language program, then attended and graduated from Mid State Technical College in 2008 with a degree in Cosmetology.
She was currently working in the Mundelein area as a retain cell phone store manager and also as a hair stylist. She was attending Lake County Community College to further her education.
Alina was the pride and joy of her mother, a kind and loving daughter to her mother and stepfather. She was an outgoing person who was also sensitive, honest and intelligent. She loved the USA and appreciated all the opportunities that it had to offer. She enjoyed traveling and was especially fond of Walt Disney World in Florida.
Survivors include her mother Galina (Surzhikova) Zaborowski and stepfather, Duane Zaborowski, Stevens Point, her maternal grandparents Nikolay Surzhikov and Zinaida Surzhikova, Krasnodar, Russia; her step grandparents Daniel and Fran Zaborowski, Amherst Junction, her aunt Elena Korotkova and cousin, Deanna in Krasnodar, Russia and many step aunts and uncles in Wisconsin.
A funeral service for Alina will be held in Russia at a later date.
