MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A portion of eastbound Interstate 94 into downtown Milwaukee is closed after a semi spilled a load of cylinder tanks containing liquid oxygen.
Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Fran McLaughlin says the spill does not present a hazardous materials situation, but it could take a couple hours to clean up the tanks, some of which have spilled.
The semi flipped on its side and skidded about 11:20 a.m. Monday. Aerial video from WTMJ-TV shows at least a dozen tanks were scattered on the freeway and in the barricaded median. Traffic backups are extensive.
