MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Eastbound Interstate 94 into downtown Milwaukee has reopened after a semi spilled a load of cylinder tanks containing liquid oxygen.
WTMJ-AM reports the truck had been towed off the road as of 3 p.m. Monday.
Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Fran McLaughlin says the spill did not present a hazardous materials situation.
The semi flipped on its side and skidded about 11:20 a.m. Monday. Aerial video from WTMJ-TV showed at least a dozen tanks were scattered on the freeway and in the barricaded median. Traffic backups were extensive.
The battalion chief says no one was hurt from the truck accident or from the cylinders flying off the truck and into oncoming traffic.
