UPDATE: Girl Scout cookies stolen from Wausau-area scout supporter

One local Girl Scout supporter is down some of her cookie stash after a sticky-fingered thief nabbed the confections. Wausau Police say about 24 boxes of cookies, still in their shipping boxes, were stolen.

Rosemary Barnes says that she is a strong supporter of the Girl Scouts and she's even a former Girl Scout herself. Barnes likes to have a plate on her desk for visitors to her Wausau business. She had two cases of cookies she recently bought from her granddaughter who is selling the cookies in southern Wisconsin. The cookies were worth around $84.

Sometime between Thursday, January 26th and Monday, January 30 someone stole the cases of cookies she had near her desk in a Washington Square office.

Police don't have any suspects yet. They are checking if surveillance video is available.

If you have any information, call the Wausau Police 715-261-7798.

*Newsline 9 has updated an earlier report to reflect the latest information. No Girl Scouts are out any cookies or money.
