Gov. Walker supporters say they're finding flawed signatures
(ABC)-- Just as recall petitions are posted online, Gov. Scott Walker supporters say they're finding flawed signatures.
All of these petition signatures have been in the hands of Walker supporters since Friday.
At a Republican Party office and warehouse in Waukesha, volunteers used yellow highlighter markers to flag possible signature flaws.
They're going over the petitions line by line, and party officials say a variety of errors are being found.
"we're finding petitions that are filled out entirely by one person, we're finding petitions with missing information for address, signature, municipality, the date," says Ethan Schuh of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
Officials say this detailed scrutiny of the recall petition signatures is expected to lead to legal challenges of the validity of some of the signatures.
State Democratic Party officials and representatives of recall group United Wisconsin have yet to comment.
Several hundred thousand signatures would have to be deemed insufficient to prevent recall supporters from getting the 540,000 valid signatures needed to force the Governor to election.
