Lawrence J. (Luke) Flees, 68, Greenfield, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2012, at his home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Rosholt.  Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the church.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Lawrence was born on May 27, 1943, in the town of New Hope, a son of the late Alois and Anne (Yenter) Flees.  He attended Peru School, then St. Adalbert's Catholic School, graduating from Rosholt High School in 1961. After high school he relocated to Milwaukee where he married Catherine Pederson on October 17, 1987. They later divorced.  He worked at Briggs & Stratton for 35 years until his retirement June 30, 1997.

He enjoyed mule deer hunting in Wyoming, fishing, camping, spending time outdoors and in his garden. He was also an avid bowler.  He also loved to travel and was proud to have visited every state but one.  He also loved spending time with his family and enjoyed going back to the family farm to deer hunt and help out.  He will be dearly missed and his memory will be shared forever.

Survivors include one daughter, Corliss (Corky) Marie Wollner; six sisters, Margaret (Norman) Biadasz, Amherst, Caroline (Chester) Eron, Junction City, Eleanor (Dave) Richter, Rosholt, Anne (Ron) Trzebiatowski, Amherst, Bernadette (Robert) Ward, Ulysses, KS, and Helen (Ron) Pliska, Rosholt; three brothers, Leonard, Rosholt, Henry (Dorothy), Amherst Junction, and Alois Jr, Rosholt.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Florian and Ambrose and one nephew Henry Flees Jr. and one great nephew Timothy Stroik

Lawrence will be ushered to his final resting place by Brian Flees, Cary Richter, Ricky Flees, Dave Richter, Melvin North and Ron Trzebiatowski.
