ANTIGO (WAOW) -

At Thursday night's meeting, the Antigo school board accepted John Lund's resignation as principal of Pleasant View Elementary School.

In his resignation letter Lund states, "My career has been a varied and rewarding one. I greatly enjoyed working with you and everyone in the district. I will miss all of you, especially the students."

In a media release, the school district said that Cindy Fischer will continue on as interim principal at Pleasant View elementary school and principal of West Elementary School. The search for a permanent replacement will begin shortly.

The board took no other actions. Members and legal counsel discussed the four other employees on paid administrative leave and expect to make a final decision on their employment status in the next 5-10 days.

Antigo School leaders will hold a special meeting Thursday night to discuss the status of four employees on paid administrative leave.

School officials will first hold a closed session meeting. After that, they plan to announce whatever is decided at that meeting with the public.

Joe Adams, Mark Incha, Jeff Neufeld and Dan Whitman were all placed on leave in the wake of a drug investigation that led to felony drug charges against elementary school principal John Lund.

Newsline 9 first reported that Antigo school administrators placed John Lund on unpaid administrative leave on January 24, 2012.
School officials are expected to make an announcement Thursday around 7:00 p.m.
