MADISON (AP) -- Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy they say posted a Facebook threat against students and staff at Madison Memorial High School.
The Capital Times newspaper reports the boy was arrested Wednesday morning. Police believe the boy used a computer at a community center near the high school to post the threat. Police spokesman Joel DeSpain tells The Associated Press the boy threatened that people at the high school would be shot.
Memorial Principal Bruce Dahmen told the newspaper the high school as well as nearby Jefferson Middle School and Muir Elementary School were notified of the threat but students kept to their normal schedules. The boy was arrested less than an hour after the schools got word of the posting.
