Thursday Sports Report - 02/02/12

(WAOW) - This year hasn't been as flawless as last year's state championship season for the Wausau West hockey team, but the Warriors still find themselves unbeaten in conference play.

They're in good position for a top seed in the playoffs as they visit Marshfield Thursday night.

The Warriors beat the Tigers 6-0 earlier in the season, but the road was a different animal as the two teams skated to a 4-4 tie.

The DC Everest hockey team is right behind West in the valley standings. The Evergreens got a first period goal and added two more to beat Stevens Point 3-1.

Mosinee is one of the few teams to beat West this year and the Indians showed why they're a force to be reckoned with, with an 8-1 win over Antigo.
