LaVern "Bud"C. Kosmerchock, 89 721 Turner St., Wausau died Thursday Jan. 2, 2012.
LaVern was born Feb. 8, 1922 in Manawa to the late Frank & Gladys (Gurin) Kosmerchock. He graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1939 and moved to Wausau to join the CCC workforce at Rib Mountain. He then worked at Curtis Woodworking before being drafted into the Army. While in WWII he served in the #594 Ambulance Company with General George Patton's 5th Army. He landed nine days after the invasion at Normandy Beach. Bud retired from Jarp Industries in 1987. He married Geraldine Ketchum Richardson on October 27, 1995.
Bud was a member of Elks Lodge #248, American Legion Montgomery-Plant Post #10, and was a life-member of V.F.W. Burns Post #388. He was a passionate golfer and an avid car enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife Geraldine, Wausau; daughter, Marcia Kosmerchock, Wausau; step-sons, Douglas (Barbara) Ketchum, Atlanta, Georgia, David and Daniel Ketchum both in Florida; step-daughters Sharon Sefton, Wausau and Joyce Naps, Menasha; sister Joyce Kosmerchock, Manawa; 5 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his 1st wife, Verna Will and 2nd wife Jeanette Zarda and 5 siblings.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday Feb. 4, 2012 at Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau. Rev. Jerry Morris of First United Methodist Church will officiate. Entombment will be in the Christus Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of service at the cemetery.
