AUBURNDALE (WAOW)--Students at Auburndale Elementary School stayed heart healthy today with a Dance-A-Thon. School leaders say the kids have been learning different dances during the week--everything from the Cupid Shuffle to the Limbo.
Today was their day to show off everything they learned. The goal is to get the kids moving, by encouraging any kind of exercise.
"Dance especially is one of the best exercises for your body. There's no competition, no body sits out. Any body can do it. It's a lifetime fitness activity," Auburndale Elementary School Physical Education teacher Jamie Jestadt said.
The Dance-A-Thon started last year. School leaders hope to continue the event in the future.
