EAGLE RIVER (WAOW) -
A Vilas County Republican says she might run for the Assembly seat currently held by Rep. Dan Meyer (R-Eagle River). Kim Simac of Eagle River says she is considering a run. Meyer announced that he won't seek reelection in the fall.
Simac spearheaded the recall efforts against State Sen. Jim Holperin (D-Conover). She also ran against him as the Republican candidate against him in the August recall election. Simac lost to Holperin 46% - 54%.
In a statement from her campaign Simac said she is seriously considering her options and will make a formal announcement in the very near future.
No other candidates have announced yet.
