Grace M. Wroblewski

Grace M. Wroblewski, 90, passed away at Harmony Village, Stevens Point, February 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate.  Friends and family may visit on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Shuda Funeral Service, Stevens Point location from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM.

Grace was born October 1, 1921 in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Kostuchouski) Barwick.  She grew up in Stevens Point and graduated P.J. Jacobs High School in 1940.  Grace joined the U.S. Coast Guard in November 1943.  She was a Seaman First Class at Milwaukee, Wisconsin Branch of Service, which  was formerly the Spars Women's Reserve.  She was honorably discharged on July 2, 1945.  She married Leonard Wroblewski on May 26, 1945 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point.  She was the bookkeeper for the family business, Wrobleski Construction, for 40 years. She also worked for Weber Tackle Company (makers of leaders for fishing), Woolworth's 5&10 Store, and Allis Chamber making wire transmitters for submarines.

Grace was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ladies Council 1170, and the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She was also lifetime member of the St. Anne's Society at St. Joseph's Church.  She loved to cook and bake, taking care of her grandkids, and loved to have get together's with her family. She was one heck of a mom!

Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen (Edward) Tratz of Stevens Point; three sons, Donald (Cookie), Ronald (Theresa) both of Plover, Mark (Anne), Stevens Point; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, daughter, Eileen (Clarence) Hepher, and two brothers Emil and Joseph Barwick.
