Racing fans packed State Park Speedway in Rib Mountain Saturday. It was the first day of the racing season and a chance for fans to remember racing icon, Dick Trickle. People at the track observed a moment of silence for Trickle. He died Thursday in an apparent suicide at the age of 71. There was a Hit and Run car crash in Rib Mountain and Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to catch the person responsible.
At about 1:00 a.m., January 15, 2012, two vehicles were driving in opposite directions on Rib Mountain Drive at Robin Lane. The victim was driving his red Ford Taurus north through the intersection when another vehicle that was driving south on Rib Mountain Drive turned left onto Robin Lane colliding with the driver's side of the victim's car causing substantial damage. The suspect did not stop and fled the scene. The victim suffered an injury. His five passengers were not hurt in the crash. The suspect vehicle is possibly a blue Ford Taurus.
