BROKAW (WAOW)-- 310 workers said good-bye to their jobs at the Brokaw Mill on Friday.
In December, Wausau Paper announced it planned to sell some of its brands to Neenah Paper.
Many of the workers now have to decide what's next.
David Williams worked at the mill for 18 years. He tells Newsline 9 he found out about the closing when he watched the news.
"I'm thinking about going back to school, " said Williams. "For what exactly, I'm not sure."
Wausau Paper officials say most of the workers laid off today worked in manufacturing. 120 workers still remain at the Brokaw Mill. Their job, to finish shutting it down. Those workers will leave by June 1st.
According to the company's website, the Brokaw Mill was founded in 1899.
